The Toronto Marlies defeated the Texas Stars, AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars, by a score of 3-0 last night from Austin.
Leo Komarov’s third goal of the season opened the scoring with just over five minutes left in the first period. Texas outshot Toronto 10-4 in the opening frame. Komarov would record his second tally of the night with just under five minutes left on the clock in the middle frame, making it 2-0 for Toronto. The Marlies outshot the Stars 8-7 in the second period. Ryan Hamilton secured the victory for his club, scoring on the powerplay just past the midway point of the final period.
Toronto continues their eight-game road trip tonight at 8 p.m. (eastern) against the San Antonio Rampage, AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers. The game can be heard live on TSN 1050 in Toronto.
