TORONTO MARLIES (3) -VS- GRAND RAPIDS GRIFFINS (2)
The Toronto Marlies defeated the Grand Rapids Griffins by a score of 4-2 this afternoon, tying the Western Conference Semi-Final series at one game apiece.
After a scoreless opening period, Tomas Jurco gave the Griffins a 1-0 lead at 8:36 of the middle frame. The lead was short lived as Ryan Lasch tallied his first goal of the post-season just under two minutes later. The two teams would exchange shorthanded goals before the end of the period, with Greg Scott scoring for the Marlies and Landon Ferraro responding for the Griffins. Will Acton scored the game winning goal at 2:36 of the third period. Greg Scott secured the victory for the Marlies with an empty net marker at 18:41.
