Series Update

The Toronto Marlies lead the Rochester Americans, AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres, 2-0 in their best-of-five Western Conference Quarter Final Series. The Marlies earned a pair of victories this past weekend at Ricoh Coliseum, dropping the Amerks 6-3 on Saturday and 2-0 on Sunday.

Sunday’s game marked the first shutout for goaltender Drew MacIntyre since he joined the Marlies in February of 2013. MacIntyre’s best save of the weekend came in the second period of Saturday’s game and currently has over 846,000 views on YouTube. The clip can be seen here:




 

Greg Scott and Jerry D’Amigo continued their offensive production in the first two games of the series. Scott’s four goal performance on Saturday, seen here, marked the first time in franchise history that a Marlies player has scored four or more goals in a playoff game. The last Marlies player to score four or more goals in a regular season game was Jiri Tlusty (5) on February 18, 2009.
