Marlies Visit Comets
February 15, 2017
The Toronto Marlies and Utica Comets will face-off for the third time in two weeks Wednesday night at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.
The Marlies [24-21-3-1] enter the game third in the North Division. They have won eight of their last ten games, including the previous two contests against the Comets. The Marlies defeated Utica 6-4 and 4-2 in two meetings last weekend.
Utica [12-21-6-2] currently sits fifth in the division and enter the game following a 3-2 loss to Syracuse on Sunday.
Byron Froese will look to continue his success against the Comets. He had five points against Utica in two games last week, and enters tonight with goals in five straight games, and a total of 11 points over that span.
The Marlies blue liners have also found the scoring touch recently and will look to continue their offensive contributions in Utica. Justin Holl and Travis Dermott have both scored in consecutive games, while Frank Corrado scored in Sunday’s game.
Tonight’s game is the seventh of eight meetings between Toronto and Utica this season. The Marlies have won five of the initial six games.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00. Catch the action on AHL Live and Marlies Radio, or follow the Marlies on Twitter and tune in to our #MarliesLive chat.
