Marlies Host Moose

February 17, 2017

The Marlies kick off a four-game home stand Friday night when the visiting Manitoba Moose roll into town for an inter-conference battle.

The Marlies (24-22-3-1) and Moose (19-24-3-3) will face off in back-to-back games tonight and tomorrow afternoon. It's the first meeting between the two sides since January 4, when Toronto won a hard-fought game 4-3.

Andreas Johnsson will look to continue his strong play when Toronto hits the ice tonight. He scored in Wednesday's game in Utica and now has 11 points (5G, 6A) over his past nine games.

The Marlies defense have been making big contributions in the offensive zone lately, as well. Andrew Nielsen scored his tenth of the season Wednesday, while Travis Dermott and Justin Holl each had multiple goals last weekend. Nielsen sits second in the league in scoring among rookie defencemen.

Coming into Friday night's game, the Marlies have won seven of their last ten games while the Moose have won just three in their previous ten contests. The Marlies currently sit third in the North Division with a points percentage of .520. Manitoba enters with the lowest points percentage in the Western Conference.

The start time for tonight's game is 7:00 and you can catch all of the action on Leafs TV or AHL Live. You can also join in the conversation by following the Marlies on Twitter and tuning in to the #MarliesLive chat.
