Hamilton Re-Signs With Marlies

June 20, 2011

Brian Burke, President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced that the club has re-signed forward Ryan Hamilton.

Hamilton, 26, skated in 45 games with the Marlies last season, recording 29 points (16 goals, 13 assists) to go along with 21 penalty minutes. The 6’2, 230-pound forward ranked third on the Marlies in goals and fifth in plus/minus (+5). In the final eight games of the 2010-11 regular season, Hamilton notched seven goals. On February 16 against the Manitoba Moose, the Oshawa, Ontario native recorded his first career AHL hat-trick and was named the game’s first star.

“We’re very excited to have him back,” said Vice President of Hockey Operations, Dave Poulin. “He represents everything we want in our organization.”

During his three seasons as a member of the Toronto Marlies, Hamilton has skated in 128 games, posting 66 points (39 goals, 27 assists) and 91 penalty minutes. He was acquired from the Minnesota Wild on January 21, 2009 in exchange for Robbie Earl. Hamilton served as one of the Marlies assistant captains last season.
