The Toronto Marlies announced today that Dallas Eakins, Ryan Hamilton and Mike Kostka have all been selected to participate in the 2013 Dunkin’ Donuts All-Star Classic, hosted by the Providence Bruins on January 27-28.

Dallas Eakins will represent the Marlies as the Head Coach of the Western Conference All-Star Team in Rhode Island. Eakins, who was an Assistant Coach for Oklahoma City’s Todd Nelson last year, was selected as a result of Toronto recording the highest win percentage in the Western Conference (as of Dec. 31, 2012).

Marlies Captain Ryan Hamilton also makes his second consecutive appearance at the AHL All-Star Classic. The Oshawa, Ontario native, who notched a goal in last year’s game, has recorded 25 points (17 goals, 8 assists) in 34 games this season. Hamilton commented on the selection, “I’m honored to represent our team at the All-Star game later this month. It is a testament to both our coaching staff and the way our team has played thus far.”

This marks the first career AHL All-Star selection for defenceman Mike Kostka. The Etobicoke, Ontario native has recorded 34 points (6 goals, 28 assists) in 34 games this season. Kostka, 27, ranks third in AHL scoring amongst defencemen.

The Marlies travel to New York to take on the Binghamton Senators, AHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators, on Friday night. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. Toronto returns home on January 26 when they host the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins, AHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, at 5 p.m. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling the team’s ticket line at 416-597-PUCK (7825).
